Shawnee Place Apartments

Springfield, OH

This project renovated 85 apartments in Springfield’s historic Shawnee Hotel and transformed the building into an affordable senior living focused community. The project received an Award of Merit from the Ohio Historical Society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Properties in 1985. The project consists of the renovation and improvements to an existing historical structure and include cleaning, tuck-pointing, repainting, miscellaneous repairs of exterior materials and finishes.

Interior renovations to include selective replacement of finishes in common corridor, shared and public areas. Renovation of existing apartment units includes new floor finishes, ceiling work, replacement of plumbing fixtures, interior doors, casework, appliances, and light fixtures. Work also included interior configuration changes to a portion of the total apartment units to allow them to be universally handicapped accessible.
