McCall Sharp Architecture designed the transformation of the second floor of the historic Johnson Manufacturing Building, a former factory facing Miami Street in Urbana, Ohio, into modern professional offices for True Inspection Services (TIS). The project was part of a comprehensive renovation of the former industrial facility, which had remained vacant for several years and sustained significant fire damage.

The renovation converted approximately 7,770 S.F. of the deteriorated manufacturing space into a functional workplace featuring private offices, meeting and conference areas, and supporting administrative spaces. The design incorporates contemporary glass office partitions and updated interior finishes while preserving exposed brick walls, original wood structural elements, and the building's distinctive industrial character.

Extensive structural rehabilitation included repairs to fire-damaged floor framing and roof structures, along with new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. New stairways and accessible circulation improvements support the building's continued use as a modern professional office facility.

By combining contemporary workplace design with the preservation of historic architectural features, the project demonstrates the potential of adaptive reuse to create distinctive, functional office environments while extending the life of an existing community landmark.
