Davidson Interpretation Center

Springfield, OH

1999

The Clark County Park District retained McCall Sharp Architecture to design the $500,000 Interpretive
Center to commemorate the 1780 Battle of Peckuwe between George Rogers Clark and his Kentucky Militia against the Shawnee Nation and the British. The 3,500 square foot timber structure is designed to imitate the deep forest canopy that dominated the terrain. The interior is devoted to exhibition space and features large window openings overlooking the battle site. The building also houses a gift shop and administrative offices. The building is also designed to be a comfort station along the proposed bike way.
