The centerpiece of the project is to build a new canopy outside the existing South entrance to the hospital to better distinguish the main entrance when viewed from the street. The entrance canopy is an entirely exterior space and does not touch the existing building. Masonry walls are constructed to screen mechanical systems from the parking lot and to enhance the hospitals signage so it is more in line with Mercy’s brand. Additional work included improving the South parking lot to provide more sensible vehicle flow and better landscape opportunities and removing some of the existing trees at the South edge of the lot to improve visibility from the street. The project was a total of 2,623 S.F.
