Springfield High School Library Renovation
Springfield, OH
2026
McCall Sharp completed Construction Documents for Springfield City School District, to show a renovation to the existing High School Library into a multi-functional use space. This design embraces the School’s colors in a toned-down, modern way, and uses biophilic design to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment. The use of warm gray colors, wood furniture, and soft patterns create an experience of a contemporary ‘Home for Reading’.
The renovation work includes creating two new breakout rooms within the large space, re-locating the circulation desk, providing new flooring (replacing the carpet and adding areas with luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring), replace all of the existing lighting with new ceiling mounted LED lights that are placed on a dimmer, replacing all of the existing furniture, adding a “media wall” where a projection screen can be dropped down for larger gatherings, and an alternate to remove the doors and windows in the two smaller offices to create two smaller breakout rooms.
